I’ve been on a hiatus from wedding photography for a few weeks because Barry and I went on a summer adventure to Provence, France! We are travelers by nature, and make it a point to visit somewhere that amazes us at least once a year. Provence was quite the dream trip… from the stone hilltop villages dating back to medieval times to the markets, churches, vineyards, beaches and lavender fields- it was such an amazing trip full of sun, nature, excursions, wine and food!
Chateau La Roque (Our AMAZING Inn)
If you look closely, you can see Barry entering our room from the terrace.
A view of Avignon as we await the start of this city’s annual wine festival. And, Barry using our wine tasting glasses as photo props.
Sault (the lavender capital of France!) and Simiane-La-Rotonde
L’Isle-Sur-La-Sorgue (The “Venice of France”)
Cassis (known for fantastic white wine production and hiking the Calanques)
Our hike to Notre-Dame de la Garde…this phenomenal church was on a mountain, not a hill!
View of the city from Notre-Dame de la Garde
Venasque (home to a Baptistry dating back to the 6th century)
View from the city
The well where people were baptized…
Just driving around…
Roussillon was my favorite village in the Luberon Valley- it was built on a reddish-orange hill and is such a charming town!
Although the lavender fields in Provence were harvested a few weeks before our trip, we still found a few ones untouched…
Last but not least… Nice!
